The Time is Drawing Closer!

Good morning! My loyal followers,

Today is a very sad, yet joyful day. I regret to hear that  President Georghiu Dej has passed away under suspicious circumstances. 

Nonetheless though, I firmly intend that the Communist Party of Romania will continue under my leadership. I intend to be a good president, and my wife and I (Elena) hope to have a long and prosperous rule as dictators tyrants leaders of our great nation.

 Elena Ceaucescu is the name of my beautiful wife. As the "first lady" so to speak I believe she is fairly important in the well being of the country because she is also the deputy prime minister. She has an extensive knowledge of politics as well as being fluent in french. I believe she is an excellent asset to our country. Although her temper at times is short...

FOR OUR COUNTRY:

A NEW ERA OF PROSPERITY BEGINS. (I promise)

Today, loyal followers. Is the day that I become your leader, and as your leader I believe you have the right to know what I intend to do, and all the promises that I mean to keep.

1.  Foreign Affairs: I believe that a strong relationship with military powers such as the United States, Italy, and the Soviet Union are essential in keeping our country strong. I will make peace, open trade, and link us not as countries, but as brothers.
2. Birthing Rate: Our country's population is considerably lower than what it should be. Henceforth I am making aborting illegal unless it is your 5th child.
3.  Standard of Living:  For too long we Romanians have been the sick man of Eastern Europe. But I promise that my government will ensure that every family has a roof to live under and food for their family. Economic prosperity is well on the way, and we shall enjoy every last bit of it, as a country, as a family!

My dear and loyal followers,

I've just been told that the revolutionists have seized full control over the parliamentary buildings and offices. My continued reign does not seem likely. In fact the reason I write to you today is because my life right now, seems to be at risk. I am being charged by the new so called gov't. Crimes against the country, thats what the charge is. Crimes? Crimes?  How could they after I so carefully construct an economic relationship with foreign country's to build our great nation? How? How could they? 

The penalty is death, and just to add insult to injury my lovely wife is being put on trial with me.  This probably the last post I will ever write to you. So to anyone who cares:

I WILL LIVE ON IN THE HEARTS AND SOULS OF THOSE WHO REMEMBER ME.
